Within a short driving distance of the Ardboyne Hotel is a challenging choice of championship parkland and magnificent links courses.

Knightsbrook Hotel & Golf Resort This new championship parkland course opens in 2006 and has been designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr. A challenging creative course you will enjoy views over lush local countryside and be intrigued by demanding water features. This course will have a magnificent club house and luxury spa to complete the perfect offering.

 
   

Navan Golf Course is located on the lands of Navan Racecourse. It is a challenge for even the most experienced of golfers with a total length of 6082 metres. A bonus for the winter golfer is the excellent sand based greens. The course is popular with golf societies, and everyone from beginners to the very experienced are always welcome. The adjoining driving range allows you the opportunity to improve your swing.

Headfort Golf Club, based in the historic town of Kells, is considered one of Ireland 's most scenic golf courses. Headfort has recently expanded to become Leinster¹s first 36 hole complex with the addition of a new, Christy O¹Connor Jnr. designed, championship course. With the River Blackwater sweeping though and featuring on 13 of 18 holes, Headfort Golf Club is the definitive "must visit" on any golfing itinerary.

 
   

Laytown and Bettystown Golf Club This traditional links course is reputed to have a tough par of 71. This is County Meath 's only links golf course.  Professional Tour golfer, Des Smyth started his golf career here. You will certainly enjoy a good round of golf as there are some excellent holes on this stretch of links land. This beautiful golf course provides an excellent opportunity to test your golf.

Royal Tara Golf Club This world famous parkland course is in the heart of Co. Meath adjacent to the Hill of Tara, ancient home of the High Kings of Ireland. It is a scenic tree lined course of average length with various degrees of difficulty. Well worth playing on a visit to the Castle Arch Hotel.

 
   

Rathcore Golf and Country Club The course may be described as parkland but this would not be sufficient. The defining features of this 18 hole golf course are the 2 ring forts, the motte and the numerous natural springs that enable 12 of the holes to have water features. Above is the 1st hole showing the ring fort that must be taken into account when teeing off. All greens have been shaped by Ollie Sutton who has worked on some of the finest courses in Ireland.

 
 
   
Co. Meath Golf Club This parkland course is located of the historic town of Trim and is often known locally as Trim Golf Course. The pleasant 18 hole course provides a gentle challenge to all golfers in a magnificent setting. The club also offers excellent locker room facilities.
 
   

South Meath Golf Club The Ardboyne Hotel, is only a short distance from this very pleasant parkland course. The course was designed with wide fairways and beautiful mature trees. The generous greens provide an extra bonus. If you are seeking a challenge this course will provide the test!

Glebe Golf Course is situated one mile from Trim town centre on the Kildalkey Road and is easily accessible from surrounding areas. The course has 18 holes and is set in natural parkland, with mature trees and gentle rolling terrain. This par 73 course offers a keen game to even the most experienced of golfers.

 
   


Bellewstown Golf Course
is a new championship length parkland course built by the Leonard family on their 150 acre farm which was originally part of the Hilltown Estate. This par 72, pay and play facility promises to be a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels.Flanked by the River Bradden to the North, the course rises to the road running along the top of the Hill of Crockafotha. The natural setting commands spectacular views of rolling countryside, the Mourne Mountains and the sea. It features natural undulations, superb water hazards and is surrounded by magnificent mature trees and grazing cattle.

 

 
   

FISHING

Located on the banks of the River Boyne the Ardboyne Hotel is a great location for fishing enthusiasts both novice and experience alike. The Boyne , and its tributaries, offer possibly the best native Wild Brown Trout and Salmon fishing in Ireland all within a short distance of the hotel. There is a choice of six rivers in the area and we will be delighted to organize permits for you and a certified guide to escort you to the best spots on the river. For those who would like to try sea fishing, Carlingford Lough is within driving distance of the hotel where you can fish for Cod, Bass and Pollock.

 

 
   

RACING

For the racing enthusiast, Navan Racecourse is on our doorstep and Fairyhouse, home of the Irish Grand National is only a short drive from the Hotel. There are also numerous equestrian establishments nearby.
