The Great Boyne Valley Bake Off at the Ardboyne Hotel
This April the judging kicks off at the inaugural Great Boyne Valley Bake off in the Ardboyne Hotel. Taking its lead from the ever popular TV show, the Great Boyne Valley Bake off will celebrate Boyne Valley produce. Martry Mill are teaming up with the Ardboyne Hotel for this event, which is featured in the Boyne Valley Food Series.
Applicants entering the competition are asked to bake a loaf of brown bread using Martry Mill wholemeal flour. The first round will take place in the Ardboyne on the 13th of April where applicants will be asked to bring their baked bread with them for the blind taste test. Because the event is part of the Boyne Valley food series, applicants are encouraged to use as much local produce in their bake.
Successful entrants from the first round will be asked to bake anything but bread for round two which will be held in the Ardboyne Hotel on the 18th of May. Entrants will have to use their imagination here to create something different using wholemeal flour.
Finalists will be chosen from round two and the grand final will be held in the Ardboyne Hotel on the 15th of June in a show stopping family day out. Tickets for the event will be priced at €15 per person and includes afternoon tea.
