Ardboyne Hotel real wedding

It’s a time when weddings need to be celebrated more than ever. Whether they are for 5 people or 50- there’s always time for love. Speaking of love- we were delighted when Sinead and Paul shared their wedding story with us.

Bride and Groom: Sinead & Paul
Wedding Date: 28th September 2019
Photographer: Peter Bell Photography

Me and Paul first met at school but nothing ever happened between us, we met again 12 years later in a pub and we got talking and hit it off from there.

The proposal…

He proposed to me on my 30th Birthday, we got up that morning and we were getting things ready for my birthday party.. he stopped me in our kitchen and popped the question, it was the best present I could have asked for.

The wedding prep…

The only theme we had was a colour theme, lavender and silver. The lead up to our big day was so busy, arranging seating plans and choosing flowers and food, picking songs for our ceremony and many other things. It was a very exciting time.

The ceremony…

We had our ceremony in the Ardboyne Hotel. Our ceremony was conducted by Hugh Gormley, it was a small intimate wedding with close family and friends. We also had a family member sing at our Ceremony which was lovely.

The Ardboyne Hotel

We chose the Ardboyne because the hotel was beautiful and it has gorgeous gardens which feature

in many of our favourite wedding photos.

Our favourite part of the day..

Our favourite part of the day was when my partner and I were sat at the top table with our wedding party and got to really look out at everyone who had made a great effort to be there for our special day.

The honeymoon..

We never got to attend our honeymoon as COVID had other plans, we were due to go in March and still haven't managed to go, maybe next year.

Do you have any tips for couples planning their day?

Don't stress over the small things, everything will fall into place.

We would highly recommend the following suppliers…

Peter Bell photography.

Petals & Pressies for my flowers.

Gers Covers for my photobooth.

Carolyn's Sweets for my tayto and bread packs and some wedding signage.

I highly recommend these people as they all were extremely helpful and reasonable.

The Budget…

I didn't manage to stay under my budget, so my advice for other couples would be to watch what you're spending your budget on as it all disappears quite quickly. I was very impulsive so I would just advise other couples to do out a plan and stick to it.

I would like to thank the Ardboyne hotel for everything they did for us to make our day so special. I would also like to say to any other couples who are going to get married to just take some time out on the day for just yourself and your partner, to just take it all in and really embrace it.
