Our Top ten things to do in Meath for the Easter holidays with the Family

1.       Plan a trip to Navan Adventure Centre

Located just outside Navan Town, Navan Adventure centre offers an inflatables area, mini golf, football golf and pedal go karting to ensure a great day out for all of the family. Packages with the Newgrange Hotel are available here and with the Ardboyne Hotel here.

2.       Plan a trip to Tayto Park

Irelands only theme park is the best day out for all of the family. Ride the Cuculainn Roller coaster, check out the zoo or even the Tayto factory tour. Packages are now available for Easter from the Ardboyne, Castle Arch and Newgrange Hotel.

3.       Check out Dublin Zoo

Not technically in Co Meath but a great day out all the same and only a 30 minute drive from any of the Cusack Hotels. Check out the elephants, the lions, zebras and even giraffes for the perfect family day out. For packages please click here.

4.       Discover Trim Castle

Situated in Trim, and only a 10 minute drive from the Ardboyne and Newgrange Hotel, this is the largest Norman castle In Ireland. Step back in time and take a tour of the castle and even the medieval armorey in the visitor centre. This is also the site where the movie Braveheart was filmed.

5.       Take a walk around the Porchfields

After your visit to the Castle take a leisurely walk arounds Trim’s Porchfields. Visit the yellow stepple, discover the jealous man and woman and take in the banks of the Boyne on the way back.

6.       Take a trip to Causey Farm

On Easter Sunday and Monday between 1pm and 5pm the Easter Bunny and all his friends have prepared an action packed afternoon of Eggcellent Easter Fun.

Meet Mrs Bunny and she will show you all around her Rabbit House. You can make your way through the burrows, big and small and get your face painted when you reach daylight!

Farmer Higgledy Piggledy, a small farmer has moved into the farm next door and you can call into him while you are here.

8.       Discover the highest point in Meath In Loughcrew

A short drive from Navan and Trim, Loughcrew is the sister of Newgrange Monument but not as packed with tourists and completely free to visit. Bring good walking shoes to make your way up to the summit and enjoy spectacular views!

 

9.       Take a tour of Slane Castle

Meath is the Royal county, so if you liked Trim Castle, you would love Slane Castle. Home to all of the famous rock concerts throughout the years, this castle has history dating back to 1703.

10.   Take a self guided walking tour of Trim.

Pick up the Trim Passport at Trim Visitor centre, The Castle Arch Hotel or the Stockhouse restaurant and take a self guided walk to all of the historic sites around Trim.
